Japanese METI updates

The Ministry of International Trade and Industry of Japan (METI) has revised its ordinance concerning technical requirements for electrical appliances and materials under the “Electrical Appliances and Materials Safety Act” (also known as “Electrical Appliance and Material Safety Law”).

The point of this Revision is mainly the change into performance-based descriptions (while some particular requirements have been added or changed). The information on the Revision has been published on the website of the Ministry at this link. This ordinance will be in force from 1 January 2014.

J3000(H21) will also be revised to J3000(H25). It is open to public from the METI website (only in Japanese). PSE certificates issued according to the old version are valid tile its expire date.
