DEKRA and QPS offer product approvals for the North American market

We are pleased to announce that we are an Authorized Testing Facility for QPS - a recognized North-American testing, certification and field services body that is headquartered in Toronto, Canada. As as result, we are now authorized to conduct testing, field evaluation, field certification and factory inspections on behalf of QPS for all electrical products destined for the North American market which require third-party approval.

The new agreement: explosion safety testing
With decades of experience in testing for the North American market, we work with several partners in the region. The new agreement with QPS expands our services in the area of explosion safety testing of equipment for hazardous locations as well as for industrial products and components. This ensures that we can identify the required tests, carry them out efficiently, and interact easily so that we can certify your products for the North American market. To further support this, we have placed explosion safety experts in our offices in North America.

About QPS
QPS is a SCC-Accredited Certification Body (ACB), OSHA-accredited Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratory (NRTL) and IAS accredited Certification Body. North American certification is based not only on explosion safety-related standards (such as the 60079 series), but also on electrical safety standards (such as the National Electric Code), which sometimes deviate from
international standards.

At DEKRA we now offer testing and certification services for equipment used in potentially explosive atmospheres for the following markets: |
- Europe (ATEX)
- Brazil (INMETRO)
- Japan (TIIS)
- Korea (KOSHA, KTL, KGS)
- North America (QPS)
- International (IECEx)
Plus various other national schemes.

Please note that this is in addition to our other performance and safety testing services.

If your products need to be certified for sale in the North American market, please don’t hesitate to contact us to discuss your requirements.
