Vietnam: List of Vehicles and Equipment Subject to Energy Labelling and Minimum Energy Performance, Decision No. 51/2011/QD-TTG - Proposed Amendment - (on extending the catalogue of industry equipment and appliances) Draft Decision, August 2016.

Vietnam's Ministry of Industry and Trade has released a draft decision which would specify further equipment to be added to the current energy labelling catalogue, with a proposed schedule of dates upon which labelling of products and minimum energy performance regulation ceases to be voluntary and must by mandatorily applied.

The draft would supplement the discrete product categories as follows:

- Household commodities: LED products and storage water heaters
- Office and commercial equipment: laptops
- Industrial equipment: public lighting equipment
- Transport vehicles: automobiles, motorcycles and mopeds
- Material groups: construction glass, insulation and windows.

The draft offers guidance on the implementation of the foregoing, with recommended energy labelling and MEP deadlines, before compliance becomes mandatory on:

01.01.2018 for automobiles; 01.01.2019 for LED products storage water heaters, public lighting equipment, laptops, printers, copiers and computer monitors and 01.01.2020 for motorcycles, construction glass, insulation and windows.

If enacted, the decision will become effective on 1 December 2016.
