Malaysian battery guideline in force from March 2015

The Ministry of Domestic Trade, Co-operatives and Consumerism (MDTCC) in Malaysia has decided that the Guideline on Mandatory Safety Standards for Primary Batteries 2013 will be in force from 1 March 2015.

The guideline also applies to primary batteries which are already on the market. They should meet the requirements before 1 September 2015.The local manufacturer or importer has to provide a Certificate of Conformity (CoC), which is based on test reports (based on applicable standards) from an ILAC recognized test laboratory, to MDTCC to get the registration number. The MC mark together with the registration number should be placed on the batteries itself or on the packaging of the battery:

MS IEC 60086-1/IEC 60086-1
MS IEC 60086-2/IEC 60086-2
MS IEC 60086-4/IEC 60086-4
